Future by Lund supports actors innovating together. By connecting environments and actors, synergies are created and at the same time a more complex transformation with multidisciplinary needs is supported. Open and ecosystem-based innovation takes place in an area where actors do not have a mandate on their own but need to act together.

What we do
Future by Lund is catalysing thematic cross-connections between different activities and competencies in the early stages of innovation work. We are involved in co-creating new content in the Innovation District.
Using innovation portfolios as a methodology, we can manage multiple drivers and goals and move toward a common vision. Together we develop growth areas in the ecosystem set over a long period of time.
Based on the need to identify growth in ecosystems and to track developments in themes and portfolios, we have created the LIEPT model (Lund Innovation Ecosystem Portfolio Tracking). It is based on experiences and working methods developed during the work with the innovation platform Future by Lund. These working methods, tools and methods have been merged into the LIEPT model.
In order to create something new, you need opportunities to test in an environment close to reality. Future by Lund is involved in creating and operating test beds in a wide variety of fields. It could be to create a new manufacturing industry, the food of the future or to test new digital technologies.
We want to strengthen Lund's capacity for international collaborations and partnerships. Together with other stakeholders, we develop Lund's innovation district and can build strategic expertise and partnerships for scaling areas of growth. We strengthen Lund ‘s ability to shape project consortia, build test beds, development pilots and make it possible to build joint innovation portfolios.

Do you have an idea or an innovation challenge that you would like to present and engage with? Contact info@futurebylund.se and we will assess whether there are conditions for us to pilot you further within our networks. If you are interested in what we do and want news about our business, you can sign up for our newsletters.
Anyone wishing to become a member of Future by Lund makes an application and is elected to a board meeting, usually by invitation. But it is very possible to cooperate with Future by Lund without being a member, and we have about a hundred partners who participate in our projects, come to our meetings or with whom we have discussions when we have interests that coincide.
Future by Lund is not an incubator that works with individual development of companies. Our focus is how many can innovate together and we act in the gap between organizations. Our goal is to contribute to opportunities and solutions in areas that cannot be solved by yourself. Future by Lund does not include IP (Intellectual Property) in what we create together.
Rather than building innovation areas through single activities or projects, we consider them as consisting of a collection of activities, ideas, projects and interventions with multiple actors and stakeholders involved where the activities are ongoing for a longer period of time. The activities together form a development or innovation portfolio.
Future by Lund does not have any consulting business.
